Ms. Young has over 32 years' experience as a prosecutor with the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office and the Fresno County District Attorney's Office. Ms. Young handled a variety of cases in her career including sexual assault and child abuse, consumer fraud, real estate fraud, community prosecution, and homicide.

Ms. Young has extensive teaching experience. Besides trial skills, expert witness, child witnesses, sexual assault prosecution and evidence training for the California District Attorney's Association and district attorney offices throughout California, Ms. Young has taught these subjects to law enforcement academies throughout California including California Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) and San Jose State University.

Ms. Young has over 15 years' experience as a faculty member in The Tools for Tolerance Program at the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles. In her capacity as an instructor for the Museum of Tolerance on courses related to ethics, racial profiling and constitutional law, Ms. Young taught extensively to California law enforcement agencies and law enforcement agencies throughout the United States.

Ms. Young received her J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge College of the Law and her B.S. in Economics from the University of the Pacific.
